Add your images

Mix formats freely — each file is read as whatever it is and written as the format you choose.

Up to 50 files at a time · nothing is uploaded, every image is processed on your own device

Settings

Pick the output format, then the quality. PNG ignores quality because it is lossless.

Smallest files at a given quality, and it keeps transparency.

82

80–85 looks identical to the original for most photographs.

Maximum dimensions

Optional. Images already smaller than this are left at their own size.

About the format converter

The general-purpose converter: drop in any mix of JPG, PNG and WebP and write all of them out as whichever of the three you choose. The dedicated pages — JPG to WebP, PNG to WebP, WebP to JPG — are the same engine with the format fixed; this one is for the cases they do not cover, and for folders that contain more than one input format.

Because every file is read as whatever it actually is, a folder of mixed screenshots and photographs converts in a single pass without sorting it first.

When this is the right tool

  • The folder contains more than one input format and you want one output format.
  • You need a conversion the dedicated pages do not cover, such as JPG to PNG or WebP to PNG.
  • You want to standardise a set of assets on one format before handing them over.
  • You are not sure which format you should be targeting — start here.

How to use it

  1. Drop in the files

JPG, PNG and WebP in any combination. Each is decoded according to what it is, not what it is named.

  2. Choose the output format

One format for the whole batch. PNG ignores the quality slider because it is lossless — the control disappears rather than sitting there doing nothing.

  3. Set quality and, optionally, a size cap

For JPG and WebP output. Constraining the maximum dimensions here saves more than any quality change.

  4. Convert and download

Results list old and new size per file. Several outputs arrive as one ZIP.

Formats and limits

Input
JPG, PNG and WebP, mixed freely.
Output
JPG, PNG or WebP — one format per run.
Transparency
Preserved when the output is PNG or WebP; flattened onto white when the output is JPG, which has no alpha channel.
Output ceiling
12,000 px on the longest edge. Browsers silently produce a blank canvas past their own area limit, so the tool refuses rather than handing you an empty file.
Metadata
Not preserved. Re-encoding through a browser canvas drops EXIF, IPTC and XMP — keep your originals if that information matters. What that involves.
Batch, limits and privacy
Up to 50 files per run at 50MB each, all processed with the same settings and returned as one ZIP. No watermark, no daily cap and no sign-up — and no upload either: every file is decoded and re-encoded by your own browser.

Common questions

Which format should I choose?

WebP for anything going on the web — it is the smallest at a given quality and keeps transparency. JPG for maximum compatibility with older software. PNG for flat graphics, logos and anything you will edit again.

Why is the quality slider greyed out for PNG?

Because PNG is lossless: the browser ignores the quality argument entirely when encoding one. To make a PNG smaller you have to reduce its colours or its dimensions, which is what the PNG compressor does.

Can I convert a whole folder in mixed formats?

Yes. Drop JPGs, PNGs and WebPs together — each is decoded from its own format and written out as the single output format you picked.
